There are essentially seven things that need to happen in the specific order in UT:

 

Step 1 – fill out the questionnaire that we give you

 

Step two – you have to fill out a Utah vital statistics form

 

Step three – prepare and file petition for divorce

 

Step four – serve the filed petition and summons on your spouse

 

Step 5  - so long as your soon to be ex agrees in writing (or does nothing) then the court will enter judgment against your spouse pursuant to the terms of your petition.

 

Step 6 – file the final paperwork (Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Decree of Divorce)

 

Step 7 – The judge signs the Findings and Decree.
